UDHAMPUR, Apr 4: Udhampur Police apprehended two inter-district drug peddlers and recovered heroin from their possession during naka checking at Tikri.
A police team from Police Post Tikri, while performing naka checking duty, stopped a vehicle bearing registration number JK05L-0005, which was coming from the Kashmir side.
During the checking, two persons were found travelling in the vehicle. On personal search, 4.81 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Hatif Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of Sopore, Baramulla and Hamam Ahmed Kar , son of Zaffer Ahmed Kar, resident of Sopore, Baramulla.
In this regard, FIR No. 70/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal, and further investigation is underway.
