UDHAMPUR, Apr 3: Police apprehended two inter- district drug peddlers during naka checking at Motor Shed, Chenani and recovered heroin from their possession.
Reports said that a police team from Police Station Chenani, while performing naka checking duty at Motor Shed, stopped a taxi (Toyota Glanza), bearing registration number JK01AV-4235 coming from Udhampur towards Kashmir side.
During checking, four persons were found travelling in the taxi. On personal search of the driver and co-driver, two transparent polypacks containing heroin weighing 2.59 grams and 2.50 grams respectively (total 5.09 grams) were recovered.
The accused have been identified as Tawheed Ahmad Khan, son of Jan Mohd Khan of Humdaniya Colony Bemina, Srinagar and Nayyeem Ahmad Akhoon son of Ghulam Mohidin Akhoon of Mir Bagh Chattabal, Srinagar.
