JAMMU, Apr 2: The daily wage workers of PHE/Jal Shakti Department today held protest demonstration at PHE complex, BC Road here today.
A large number of PHE workers under the banner of PHE Workers United Front assembled in the office complex of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti Department at BC Road, Jammu today and started their protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their demands and also against the Government for ignoring their issues.
They were led by senior office bearers including, Rajinder Singh Taj, Hoshiar Singh, Ravi Hans, Navdeep Singh, Mohan Lal and others. The protesting workers were shouting slogans in front of the office of Chief Engineer in support of their demands. They were also carrying banners and placards in hands.
While addressing gathering, Rajinder Singh Taj demanded that all the daily wagers be regularized without any delay. He said that CM has given fresh assurance for initiating regularisation process shortly in phased manner. The employees have trust on the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. They will wait for some time and suspend their agitation.
The other leaders said that daily wagers had high hope during this Budget Session but they were disappointed. Now Chief Minister has again given assurance but at least committees report should be made public, they demanded. The agitating workers are demanding regularization of their services and release of their pending wages.
