JAMMU, Mar 30: A one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Future of Management Education” was organized by The Business School, University of Jammu (JU), bringing together faculty members from colleges across the region.
The programme focused on equipping educators with contemporary insights amid rapid changes driven by globalization, technological advancements, and evolving industry expectations.
The FDP began with a ceremonial inauguration. Prof Amisha Gupta, Director, in her welcomed address, highlighted the role of teachers in shaping students’ academic and professional trajectories.
A key highlight of the inaugural session was the address by Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu and former Director, Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur. She shared her inspiring life journey, reflecting on her academic and professional experiences, and provided a clear roadmap for faculty members emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and regular upskilling in today’s dynamic academic environment.
The FDP featured three technical sessions. Session I, “Step into the Future: Finding your Ideal B-School,” was conducted by Prof Amisha Gupta, Prof Alka Sharma and Prof Komal Nagar, who highlighted curriculum innovation, flexible learning pathways, and alignment of programmes with industry needs.
Session II, “The Road to Top B-School: Admissions, Ranking & Strategy,” was delivered by Prof Sameer Gupta, Dr Farah S Chaudhary, and Dr Aubid Hussain Parrey, focusing on admission strategies, entrance examinations, and ranking parameters while Session III, “Inside the B-School Metrics: Campus Life & Career Outcomes,” featured Prof Vinay Chauhan, Prof Rachna, Dr Saloni Devi and Dr Shelleka Gupta, offering insights into campus life, skill development, placements, and career outcomes.
Faculty from institutions including GCET, MBS, GCW Nagrota, IMS Jammu, GDC Bhaderwah, MAM College, GCW Bhagwati Nagar, GCW Kathua, GDC Kathua, GCW Parade, GDC Kunjwani, GDC Samba, GDC Udhampur, YCET Jammu and GDC Khour participated.
The programme was organized under Prof Amisha Gupta (convenor), with Prof Komal Nagar as coordinator, Prof Rachna as deputy coordinator and Dr Saloni Devi as co-coordinator.
