Intrusion bid foiled in Balakote

JAMMU, Sept 20: Army last night foiled an infiltration attempt by the militants along the Line of Control (LoC) between Kanga Nullah and Tarkundi forests in Balakote sector of Poonch district.
Reports said a group of militants carrying arms and ammunition with them tried to infiltrate from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) into the Indian territory between Kanga Nullah and Tarkundi forests of Balakote sector at 9 pm.
Troops opened firing to neutralize the militants, who retreated after about an hour to PoK from where they had been launched by Pakistan Army for infiltration into this side. However, the troops foiled the intrusion bid by spotting the group and making it to retreat, reports said.
Number of the militants, who tried to infiltrate from Balakote sector last night was stated to be between four and six.
