SAMBA, Mar 23: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 9.70 grams of heroin-like substance in Samba district today.
Officials said that acting on specific information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station Samba established a vehicle checking naka near Bhargava College Samba and intercepted a motorcycle (JK21K-1424).
On search of the person driving the bike, later identified as Farman Ali of Rakh Barotian, tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba, 9.70 grams of heroin-like substance was seized, they said.
Accordingly, the accused individual was taken into custody and booked in case FIR number 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Samba and further investigation taken up.
