JAMMU, Mar 17: Bawa Bhair Devsthan Trust (BBDT) here today demanded the start of construction work on Tawi River Bridge at Katal Bataal in Nagrota and claimed that the bridge will benefit lakhs of devotees who visit to the shrine annually.
Addressing a meeting, chairman BBDT Development Committee, B.S Jamwal, NMC president, Subash Shastri, Trust president, Balwant Singh and general secretary, Ramesh Sharma urged the CM, Dy. CM, MP and local MLA, Yudhvir Sethi to start the reconstruction work of the new bridge which was washed away during August 2025 devastating floods.
“Since the festival season has set in, therefore an early initiative in this regard would help the pilgrims to smoothly undertake their pilgrimage to the centuries old revered shrine,” said Trust members.
Bawa Bhair Devsthan Development Committee general secretary, Ritiz Khajuria, Om Parkash Sharma, Subash Sharma, ex-Sarpanch, Kirpal Singh, Girdhari Lal Sharma, Anchit Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Joginder Singh and others were also present in the meeting.
