JAMMU, Mar 1: The Society for Integrated Development of Agriculture, Veterinary & Ecological Sciences (SIDAVES) held its general body meeting at Press Club of Jammu, during which the results of the General Elections–2026 for the Executive Committee and Youth Wing were announced.
Dr Jagpaul Sharma, former Director Research and Registrar of SKUAST-Jammu, was declared elected unopposed as president of the Executive Committee. Dr Akshaydeep, Assistant Professor (Contractual) in Dairy Business Management at SKUAST-Jammu, was also elected unopposed as chairman of the Youth Wing.
For the Executive Committee, Dr Vivek M Arya, Professor (Soil Science), was elected as vice president, while Dr Vikas Sharma, Professor & Head (Soil Science), was elected as secretary. Dr Vijay Khajuria, Chief Scientist (Farming System Research), was elected as joint secretary. Dr Anil Bhat, Associate Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu, was elected as publicity secretary, Dr Balbir Dhotra, Professor (Organic Farming) as treasurer, and Dr Satesh Kumar, Professor (Organic Farming), SKUAST-Jammu, as coordinator.
The elections for the Youth Wing were also conducted, in which Dr Divyansh Verma was elected president, Dr Sneahpreet Kour as vice president, Gourav Sudan as secretary, Dr Tanika Mahajan as joint secretary, Dr Divyanshu Sharma as publicity secretary and Dr Chandan Thappa as coordinator. All the office-bearers of the Youth Wing were elected unopposed.
