JAMMU, Mar 1: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bahujan movement founder Kanshi Ram, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Jammu & Kashmir president Darshan Rana announced that a series of commemorative programmes will be organized at the district level across the Union Territory to pay rich tributes to the iconic leader and to spread awareness about his ideology and mission.
Addressing party workers, Rana said the programmes will comprehensively highlight the historic and inspirational journey of Kanshi Ram—from the formation of BAMCEF to DS-4 and ultimately the establishment of the Bahujan Samaj Party—underscoring his lifelong struggle to unite, awaken and politically empower the Bahujan society. He said the evolution of these organizations represents a historic transition in which social awareness was transformed into a strong and organized political force.
Rana further stated that through meetings, seminars and public gatherings, party workers as well as members of the general public will be sensitized to the ideology, mission and sacrifices of the great leader. Special emphasis will be laid on the participation of youth and the outreach to marginalized and weaker sections so that they become aware of their constitutional rights and political strength in a democratic framework.
He said the Jayanti celebrations will not remain confined to ceremonial observances but will serve as a mass awareness campaign aimed at carrying forward Kanshi Ram’s vision of social justice, equality and self-respect. “The journey from BAMCEF to DS-4 and finally to BSP symbolizes the rise of a conscious and organized Bahujan movement, which continues to guide the party’s mission even today,” he added.
Rana asserted that inspired by this legacy, the BSP organization in J&K will be further strengthened at the grassroots level. All district presidents and office-bearers have been directed to ensure disciplined functioning of the party cadre and to mobilize enthusiastic participation so that the Jayanti celebrations become meaningful, impactful and reflective of Kanshi Ram’s ideals.
