PHE land donors hold meet, demand immediate redressal of grievances

JAMMU, Feb 25: An emergency meeting of Jammu and Kashmir PHE land donors’ association was held her today under the chairmanship of Akram Shah in presence of Babu Hussain Malik, state president of the J&K Government employees Joint Action Committee (R).
The meeting was attended by other senior trade union leaders and was addressed by Babu Hussain Malik and Mohd Akram Shah.
The land owners, who donated land on documentary proof and had it mutated in favour of the state government under an agreement, claim that some members’ agreements expired during the working period, leaving them suffering for want of wages and regularization.
They assert having contributed to the superior satisfaction of the state government.
The demands put forward by the land donors included regularization without Length of Service condition, regularization without any qualification or criteria, release of pending 45 months wages for Jammu / 25 months wages for Kashmir land donors, release of pending salaries of 3156 PHE land donors of J&K UT, release of pending salaries of 117 land donors of Rajouri District and financial aid / fresh engagement for land donors attacked by wild animals in their duties in the PHE department, including compensation for those who died or were injured.
Addressing to the media persons, Babu Hussain Malik and Mohd Akram Shah warned the Government to concede the genuine demands of all PHE land donors, failing which the land donors/NBCLs employees will resort to protests, including marching on streets and roads, for which the Government will be responsible.
The leaders also appealed to the Chief Minister and Lieutenant Governor to address the genuine and justified demands of the land donors/NBCLs at the earliest.
Among others who were present during the meeting included, Girdhari Lal Chanda, Madan Sangral, Pawan Kumar, Kamla Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma, Ranjeet Kumar, Shabir Ahmed Sheikh, Abdul Rashid Gorsi and Bharat Singh.
