JAMMU, Feb 22: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 14.03 grams of heroin-like substance and a sharp-edged weapon in Miran Sahib area here today.
During routine patrolling near Balol naka, a white Swift vehicle (JK02DJ-9786) was stopped for intercepted for checking, a police official said.
On search of the vehicle rider, identified as Faree Ali alias Baba Ring Road alias Bagu of Galwanday Chak, Gajansoo, Marh, 14.03 grams of heroin-like substance and a sharp-weapon (toka) along with Rs 3000 cash was recovered, he said.
Accordingly, the police official said, the accused individual was arrested and booked in case FIR number 25/2026 under sections 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act and 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and further investigation taken up.
The Swift vehicle used in the crime has also been seized, he added.
