UDHAMPUR, Feb 17: Udhampur Police has attached a movable property worth approximately Rs 30 lakh of a notorious drug peddler, under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
The property belongs to Aijaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar of Gulab Bagh, Srinagar and the attachment has been made in connection with FIR No. 28/2026 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
During the course of investigation, it came to fore that the accused, who is a notorious drug peddler, had purchased one Innova Crysta bearing Registration No. JK01AX-8441from the proceeds of illicit narcotics trade. Accordingly, the said vehicle has been seized and attached under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act for further legal proceedings.
Further investigation has revealed that the accused is also involved in the following NDPS cases FIR No. 23/2022 U/S 8/20/29 NDPS Act of P/S Zakoora, FIR No. 30/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of P/S Zadibal. The accused is presently lodged in District Jail Udhampur under judicial custody.
Meanwhile, a police party of Police Station Udhampur, while performing patrolling duty near Circular Road Udhampur, arrested a drug peddler who was coming from Saillan Talab side towards Matador Stand Udhampur.
He has been identified as Mohd Saleem, son of Shab Din of Ward number 48, Gujjar Basti, Bahu Fort, Jammu. 5.67 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 48/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
