WASHINGTON, Feb 16: Canada is imposing sanctions against Russia because of a lack of power, and to show its support for the Kiev regime, but in reality, these restrictions have no practical effect, Russian Ambassador to Ottawa Oleg Stepanov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“The unilateral measures introduced by Ottawa are out of debility. A fiction designed to demonstrate support for the regime in Kiev for lack of other opportunities,” the ambassador told RIA Novosti.
He also noted that the restrictions imposed by Ottawa in practice do not have an impact on individuals and legal entities included in the relevant lists, as well as on the economic situation in Russia.
