Speaking to reporters after laying wreaths at the Martyrs Memorial of 185 Battalion CRPF in Lethpora, Singh said the force continues to stand firmly with the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
“On this day in 2019, we lost 41 bravehearts. We have gathered near the same spot to pay tribute to them. I want to assure their families that the CRPF stands with them,” he said.
Emphasising the force’s resolve, Singh asserted that the CRPF remains steadfast in its mission against terrorism. “The CRPF is committed to destroying all forms of terrorism in the country,” he said.
Detailing the support extended to the martyrs’ families, the Director General said sustained efforts have been made over the years to address their needs.
Nineteen families have been allotted quarters in CRPF group centres, while others have received land in coordination with local governments, he said.
He said that the CRPF is also ensuring educational support for the children of the martyrs and will continue to do so.
As they come of age, compassionate appointments are being facilitated, he added.
“On average, each family has received financial assistance ranging between Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 3 crore from the Government,” Singh said.
He also highlighted the launch of the “Veer Parivar” mobile application aimed at addressing the day-to-day concerns of the families.
The CRPF Welfare Directorate, he said, remains in regular contact with them to provide necessary assistance.
Referring to recent casualties, Singh said eight CRPF personnel were martyred in different operations in 2025.
“We stand with their families as well. Whatever issues need to be addressed, we are committed to resolving them and ensuring all necessary support,” he said.
Earlier, a solemn ceremony was held at the Martyrs Memorial to mark the seventh anniversary of the Pulwama attack.
The event was attended by the DG CRPF, ADG CRPF J&K Zone Rajesh Kumar, IG KOS Vineet Brij Lal, along with officers from Army, BSF, ITBP, SSB, J&K Police and the civil administration.
Floral tribute were offered at the memorial, followed by a ceremonial salute by the CRPF guard.
A minute’s silence was observed, accompanied by the sounding of the bugle, as a mark of respect for the fallen personnel.
As part of the commemoration, the CRPF, under the aegis of the IG Kashmir Operations Sector, organised a blood donation camp — a tradition observed annually on the occasion.
Officers and jawans participated enthusiastically, donating more than 100 units of blood to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar.
