RAJOURI, Feb 9: A road traffic accident involving a Dumper (Tipper) and a Tempo Traveller occurred today in Thalka area of district Rajouri, resulting in the injuries to six persons.
Immediately after the incident, all the injured were shifted to nearby health facilities where they were provided first aid and necessary medical treatment, while some were referred for specialized care.
The injured have been identified as Sajad Ahmad (26), driver, son of Talib Hussain, resident of Dharal, who was referred to GMC Rajouri; Sabja Begum, wife of Abdul Qayoom, aged 50 years, resident of Dhanore, who was admitted at SDH Nowshera; Narveer Singh, son of Deep Singh, aged 29 years, resident of Qila Darhal, who was referred to GMC Jammu; Gurmeet Singh, son of Balwinder Singh, aged 21 years, resident of Qila Darhal, who was also referred to GMC Jammu; Nazia Kouser, wife of Shahban Ahmed, aged 30 years, resident of Dhanore, who was admitted at SDH Nowshera; and Mohd Nabi, son of Shefa Ahmed, aged 2 years, resident of Dhanore, who was admitted at SDH Nowshera.
Block Medical Officer Nowshera, Dr. Chander Parkash, personally supervised the treatment to the injured and informed that two injured person were referred to GMC Jammu, one to GMC Rajouri, while three injured persons were admitted at SDH Nowshera, where their condition is stated to be stable.
As per preliminary information, the Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK11G-9495, driven by Sajad Hussain, son of Talib Hussain, resident of Tanda Chowkian, Darhal, was on its way from Jammu to Rajouri when it collided with a Tipper bearing registration number JK11E-0570, driven by Narveer Singh, son of Deep Singh, resident of Qila Darhal.
In this connection, FIR No. 32/2026 under sections 281 and 125(a) of BNS has been registered.
