KARGIL, Feb 1: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner/ CEO-LAHDC, Kargil, ration was distributed among drivers and helpers of various vehicles stranded in Kargil Town on account of the inclement weather.
The exercise was supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Imteeaz Kacho with the help of District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) and staff of DDMA.
Kacho visited Shiliktchey where the stranded vehicles are currently parked.
The Police personnel manning the entry post in Shiliktchey also extended full support and assistance during the distribution of ration.
Kacho interacted with the drivers and helpers and expressed gratitude for their service. While appreciating their patience, he assured that the heavy vehicles would be allowed to proceed towards Kashmir (J&K) once the weather clears up and the condition of the National Highway improves.
