
*Statehood be restored: Ravinder

RAJOURI, Jan 20: Former MLC & JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma has said that Centre Government should restore statehood to J&K without any further delay, as the people are suffering a lot.
Addressing a large gathering of party workers chaired by DCC president Ashok Sharma at Sunderbani today as part of MGNREGA Bachao Sangram and Hamari Riyasat- Hamara Haq movement, JKPCC chief spokesperson criticised the divisive slogans by BJP and certain other forces, for vested political interests and said that unity of regions within Jammu and Kashmir is paramount for equitable treatment and development and the Centre should restore statehood to J&K at the earliest.
He said that certain forces are playing divisive politics posing threat to the unity, integrity and identity of J&K and regions within UT, for cheap publicity and vested interests, which is very dangerous for peace, harmony and future of Jammu and Kashmir. The political and social strength of Jammu province lies in its unity on secular lines and brotherhood, which should be maintained at all costs, for equitable treatment and development. He questioned the economic and job policy of BJP leading to huge unemployment & criticised the repeal of MGNREGA and said that it is big blow to rural jobless by Modi Government.
DCC president Rajouri, Ashok Sharma lashed out at the Centre over repeal of MGNREGA and termed it anti- poor. He said Congress will continue to expose BJP’s anti-labour, anti- poor policies. He said that Congress has already announced intensification of statehood movement and said that we shall fight for the rights of common people.
Adv Aiyaz Kataria, Block presidents N C Sharma, Tirth Ram Sharma, Ajit Singh ,Yog Raj Sharma, Dr Ved Sudan, Thoru Ram, Sub Om Parkash, Lachhman Khajuria, Vijay Damral, Rajeev Chadha, Kasturi Lal, Capt Joginder Singh and Several senior leaders addressed the gathering and pledged to carry out mass awareness against the wrong policies of BJP.
The gathering passed a resolution seeking restoration of statehood to J&K, criticised repeal of MGNREGA and further to regularise all daily wagers, contractuals, adhoc, consolidated and all temporary workers in a time bound manner.
