LEH, Jan 15: The Union Territory Government of Ladakh has ordered the freezing of boundaries of Districts, Tehsils, Municipalities, Towns, revenue villages and other administrative units across the UT till the completion of Census 2027.
“Pursuant to the powers conferred by Clause (iv) of Rule 8 of the Census Rules, 1990, the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh hereby freezes the boundaries of Districts/ Tehsils, Municipalities, Towns, Revenue Villages and other administrative units in the whole Union Territory of Ladakh till completion of Census 2027,” said a notification issued by Dr Laltinkhuma Franklin, Commissioner Secretary, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, UT of Ladakh.
“This notification shall and shall always be deemed to have come into effect with effect from January 1, 2026,” it said.
