RAMBAN, Dec 27: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Ramban today disqualified Driving Licences (DLs) of three persons involved in serious illegal activities including bovine smuggling.
As per official orders issued by the ARTO Ramban, Kuldeep Singh, Driving Licence No. JK1920180000395 issued in favour of Mohd Akram, son of Mohd Rafiq Khan, resident of Shaban Bass, Banihal; DL No. JK1920250001293 issued in favour of Mohd Yasir, son of Mohd Younis, resident of Ward No. 3, Tatrsoo, Ramban and DL No. JK1920120002911 issued in favour of Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Yaqoob, resident of Chanderkote, Ramban, have been disqualified for three months with immediate effect.
The action followed after the registration of criminal cases by the Police against the licence holders for illegal transportation of bovine animals.
The disqualification of DLs has been effected under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 after following due legal procedure.
