JAMMU, Dec 23: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) today paid their tribute to Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan on his 136th birth anniversary in a function held here today.
JCMS president Romesh Chander Gupta, while remembering Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, highlighted his achievements.
He said, “Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan was born on 23rd of Dec 1889. He was the third Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India and the first Prime Minister of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. During the reign of Maharaja Hari Singh, he played a key role in the accession of the state to India.”
Sanjay Mahajan, general secretary of the Sabha handled the proceedings of the programme.
Shiv Partap Gupta, senior vice president presented vote of thanks.
Among others who graced the event included Ram Sarup Gupta, Surinder Gupta, Balbir Gupta, Kulbushan Gupta, Raghuveer Chander Gupta, Atul Gupta, Vipan Gupta, Sat Pal Gupta, Rajinesh Gupta, Dr Mritunjya Gupta, Ramesh Gupta, Vimal Gupta, Arun Gupta and Ravi Rohmetra.
