JAMMU, Dec 23: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has issued notice in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking directions to the UT administration in matters concerning Displaced Persons of 1947 from Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Arun Palli and Justice Rajnesh Oswal took up the PIL filed by Jammu Kashmir Action Committee President Gurdev Singh through Advocate Siddant Gupta . The Bench noted that earlier, on November 24, 2025, time had been granted to the respondents to seek instructions and file their response.
During the hearing, Monika Kohli, Senior Additional Advocate General, appearing for the respondents, submitted that a formal notice be issued so that a detailed response could be placed on record. The Court issued notice, which was accepted by Kohli on behalf of the respondents and sought short accommodation to file the reply.
The matter has been adjourned to February 10, 2026.
