RAMBAN Dec 19: Police here today arrested four persons in two separate incidents and recovered narcotic substances from their possession.
In first incident, cops on routine patrolling duty from Karol to Maitra in Ramban, noticed a Tata Mobile vehicle parked near Konsi Nalla at Crusher Point. During checking of the vehicle cops found two persons in possession of Charas-like substance weighing approximately 40-50 grams each.
They were identified as Wasim Ahmed, 23, son of Gulshan Ahmed, resident of Ward No. 2, Dak Bungalow, Batote and Nitu Singh, 27, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Bodhi Dundrath, Tehsil & District Ramban.
Cognizance in this case was taken under relevant provisions of NDPS Act.
In another case, Banihal Police apprehended two persons during traffic checking at Kharpura-Chowk, Banihal.
On noticing cops, the suspects attempted to flee but were swiftly apprehended. During their search, cops found heroin-like substance weighing approximately 10-14 grams.
The accused were identified as Javid Ahmed Khan, son of Bodhar Ahmed Khan, resident Kapwara and Azad Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed Khan, resident of Kapwara.
Accordingly, FIR No. 136/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
