JAMMU, Dec 13: Ramakrishna Mission Medical Centre, Ramakrishna Vihar, Udheywala, today successfully organised a free multi-speciality health camp, providing quality healthcare services to people from nearby areas.
As per a statement, the camp was held from 9 am to 2 pm and witnessed an encouraging response from the local community, reflecting the growing need for accessible and preventive healthcare facilities.
The health camp mainly focused on heart health and oral health and hygiene. It was led by noted cardiologist Dr Neeraj Gupta from Ascoms Avighna Heart Centre and eminent dentist Dr Rakesh Raina, MDS (PhD), with PG in Oral Implantology.
They were supported by a dedicated team from the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College and Hospital, Amphalla, under the supervision of Dr Manisha Koul, Registrar, and Dr Mayank Hali. The team ensured smooth conduct of examinations and counselling of patients.
Free medical consultations were provided by specialists from various departments, including general medicine, orthopaedics, dentistry, gynaecology, ophthalmology and physiotherapy, offering comprehensive healthcare services under one roof.
In addition, free diagnostic tests such as ECG, blood sugar, uric acid and neuropathy tests were conducted to help in early detection of health problems.
A full body check-up package comprising CBC, lipid profile, blood sugar, thyroid, liver and kidney function tests along with Vitamin D assessment was also offered at a highly subsidised rate of Rs 1200 for fasting patients.
Around 320 patients benefited from the camp, which was attended by 12 experienced doctors.
The camp was also attended by SDM Marh Pallavi Mishra and Raman Gupta, who appreciated the efforts of Ramakrishna Mission in reaching out to the community.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Yajnadharananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Jammu, said the Mission remains committed to the ideals of selfless service and preventive healthcare.
He added that such camps would continue in the future for the welfare of society.
