JAMMU, Dec 7: Election of Dogri Sanstha Jammu was held here today under the supervision of Col. Raz Manawari, who served as the Presiding Officer.
In these elections, Padmashri awardee Prof. Lalit Magotra was elected as president of Dogri Sanstha and Sahitya Akademi and State Awardee, Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’ as general secretary.
Distinguished academicians and writers Prof. Veena Gupta, Prof. Shashi Pathania and Inderjeet Kesar were elected as vice presidents; Susheel Begana as literary secretary; Pawan Verma, secretary; Vijay Thakur, publicity secretary and Ashok Khakuria, treasurer.
Before the election process, outgoing general secretary Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’ presented a comprehensive three-year report highlighting the organization of over a hundred literary programmes along with other activities.
After declaration of results, Padmashri Prof. Lalit Magotra said that the new team will work tirelessly to strengthen its role further.
The general secretary Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’ assured that the new term would focus on enhancing organizational efficiency, broadening literary initiatives, increasing publication activities and strengthening Dogri outreach across educational institutions, cultural platforms and digital media.
