JAMMU, Dec 6: The Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM), J&K and Ladakh UT, today submitted a memorandum to MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, urging him to raise the issue of reclaiming Indian Territory occupied by China since the 1962 Indo-China War.
The organisation said that the attack of 20 October 1962 violated the Panchsheel Agreement and ended the spirit of “Hindi-Chini Bhai-Bhai”, leading to the occupation of a large part of India’s land despite the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.
BTSM recalled that on 14 November 1962, Parliament unanimously passed a resolution to liberate the occupied territory, but noted that no concrete steps have been taken since then.
To keep this commitment alive, BTSM observes 14 November as Resolution Remembrance Day across the country.
The J&K and Ladakh unit requested the MP Jugal Kishore Sharma to raise the issue in the Parliament and help create wider support for the cause. Members of the organisation were present during the submission.
Those who presented the memorandum included Dr Vivek Sharma, President, J&K and Ladakh UT and Rajinder Sadotra, General Secretary, J&K and Ladakh UT besides other members.
