JAMMU, Aug 24: Voice for Rights, criticized the State Government for failing in setting up a mechanism for the protection of rights of children in the State.
Addressing a press conference, Deepika Singh Rajawat, Founder, Voice for Rights accused State Government of not implementing the laws related to the protection of child rights in the State. She said it is unfortunate that even the present Government has miserably failed in setting up a protective mechanism for the children in Jammu and Kashmir.
Children who are at the receiving end due to number of reasons are victimized easily and there is no check maintained by the Government to protect their rights and save them from getting abused, Deepika  added.
Children who are though considered the future of the nation, but unfortunately are least taken care of, she further added.
She has appealed the Labour Commissioner to initiate a drive to rescue such children within a time bound period.
Speaking at the press conference, parents of the victim, appealed the Chief Minister to initiate personal probe into the matter.
