UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: Udhampur Police secured conviction of the accused in an NDPS case within record time of two months.
The case pertains to FIR No. 139/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Rehambal, which was registered against accused Janam Bhagat, son of Mohan Lal, resident of Kambal Danga, Udhampur, who was apprehended during patrolling at Phalata on 13.09.2025 and heroin was recovered from his possession.
A thorough and professional investigation led by DySP(P) Tahzeeb Zehra Jawaid, ensured timely completion of all legal procedures. The charge-sheet was produced before the court within two months.
After the due course of trial, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Udhampur convicted the accused under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
