ASTI team meets CM, discusses challenges faced by local micro industries

JAMMU, Nov 26: The representatives of the Association of Small and Tiny Industries (ASTI) Jammu Province met Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and discussed the challenges faced by the local micro industries in Jammu region.
The representatives of the Association also submitted a memorandum listing the demands and concerns of the industry and demanded government intervention and support for their upliftment.
A handout of the Association stated that the Chief Minister was considerate in listening to the issues raised by the Association and assured the Association of government’s full support to address the challenges and promote the growth of micro industries in the region.
The Association emphasised on the development of woollen cluster and processing units in the Pahari area, a key area with substantial potential for growth and the CM acknowledged the importance of this initiative and expressed his commitment to facilitate the development of these sectors.
Those who were present in the meeting were Harbinder Singh, president; Sanjay Chopra, vice president; Lakhbir Singh, treasurer and Gurcharan Singh, secretary who represented the Association.
