JAMMU, Nov 20: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir general secretary and former Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria today kick started the blacktopping work at Ward No 55, Apna Vihar and adjoining areas falling in RS Pura-Jammu South Assembly constituency.
The project was executed through the Jammu Municipal Corporation at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said, “The project fulfils a long-pending demand of the local residents and has been made possible through the efforts of MLA Dr Narinder Singh. Once completed, the road will provide major relief to commuters and significantly improve connectivity in the area.”
He assured that several more public-oriented development projects will be completed in a phased manner in the coming days.
Billawaria instructed the concerned engineers and contractors to ensure the use of high-quality materials and to complete the work in a time-bound, transparent and standard-compliant manner so that residents receive long-term benefit.
“The JMC has accelerated development works across all wards and their positive impact is now clearly visible on the ground. The Corporation is working continuously to provide better civic amenities at every level, while the Modi Government at the Centre is also committed to resolving people’s issues and accelerating developmental activities across J&K,” he added.
Among others who were present on the occasion included BJP District Jammu South president Naresh Jasrotia, Mandal president Ajay Pratap Singh, Sohan Singh Katal, State Executive Committee Member Rajinder Chib (Poppy), district secretary Ranjit Singh, departmental officials and several prominent citizens.
