Srinagar, Nov 13: Security forces today arrested two hybrid terrorists in Sopore area of Baramulla district and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
A police spokesman said that J&K Police in Sopore along with 22 RR of Army and 179 Bn CRPF, arrested two hybrid terrorists during a joint operation at Sadeeq Colony, Mominabad Sopore.

“The check point was established following specific input regarding movement of suspicious individuals in the area.
“During checking, two persons coming from Fruit Mandi Sopore towards Ahat Baba Crossing attempted to flee on noticing the presence of police and security forces. The joint team acted promptly and apprehended both individuals on the spot,” the spokeman said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Najar son of Mohammad Akbar Najar, resident of Mohalla Tawheed Colony Maazbugh and Shabir Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Sultan Mir resident of Brath Sopore.
“Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including one pistol, one magazine, 20 live rounds and twohand grenades were recovered from their possession. The recoveries indicate their involvement in terror-related activities in the area.
“A case FIR No. 253/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been set into motion. J&K Police reaffirm their commitment to maintaining peace and security across the Valley,” the spokesman added.
