JAMMU, Nov 8: Dr Akshay Gupta, Professor of Orthodontics at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) in Jammu, was today awarded the Charak Award for Clinical Excellence in Dentistry by the Indian Dental Association (IDA).
The prestigious award was presented during a ceremony held at the state-of-the-art Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, as part of the much-anticipated World Dental Show 2025. The event saw the participation of thousands of dental professionals, academics, and industry experts from around the globe. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Gustavo Gonzalez, the Honorary Consul General of Chile, who attended as the chief guest.
The Charak Award, a significant recognition within the Indian dental community, celebrates outstanding contributions and clinical excellence in the field of dentistry. Dr Gupta was recognized for his significant achievements in orthodontics, innovative clinical practices, and dedication to dental education and patient care.
Dr Gupta upon accepting the accolade said, “This recognition is a testament to the hard work of my team at IGGDC Jammu and our shared commitment to advancing dental health and education”.
