JAMMU, Oct 22: Vishwakarma Day was celebrated here today with religious devotion and traditional rituals.
The technical workers did no-work on this day and worshipped their machines and tools after servicing them. In factories and manufacturing units also, the Vishwakarma Day was celebrated by workers who worshipped the machines and tools with which they work throughout the year.
Vishwakarma Day is celebrated on next day of Diwali and the workers believe that Lord Vishwakarma- the divine architect and creator of the universe, safeguards them from accidents during the work while profits of the organisations also increase by remembering Lord Vishwakarma on this special day.

At the Vishwakarma Sabha Temple Complex, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, the celebrations began with a traditional Hawan, invoking the blessings of Lord Vishwakarma.
The program was organized by the Vishwakarma Sabha and graced by several distinguished guests, including Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLA Jammu West Arvind Gupta, J&K BJP president and former Minister Sat Sharma (CA), former Vice Chairman (OBC) Kuldeep Raj Verma, Ex-Corporators Gourav Chopra, Surinder Singh Choudhary, Manmohan Singh. Shashi Verma (President Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha) Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman of Team Jammu) and others.
The guests highlighted the life and legacy of Lord Vishwakarma, lauding his contributions as the master craftsman and divine engineer.
Kuljeet Rai (Chairman, Vishwakarma Sabha), Vijay Kumar (Vice Chairman), Rattan Lal Changotra, Ashok Kumar, Om Parkash, Sanjay Kumar and others contributed to the smooth conduct of the event.
On the Vishwakarma Day, Hawan and Bhajan Kirtan was held in the Vishwakarma Temple, New plots, Jammu, under the supervision of Mohinder Lal (President of the Temple Committee).
Speaking on the occasion, Mohinder Lal reiterated the demand of a Gazetted Holiday on Vishwakarma Day. Ramesh Angotra explained said that every worker observes an undeclared holiday on Vishwakarma Day and therefore the Government must pay attention to their demand for public holiday.
Later, a Langer was also arranged for the devotees on this occasion. Organising team included, Rattan Lal, Joginder Angotra, Pappu Virdhi, Vishal Angotra, Kunal Angotra, Jitender Jajua.
