UDHAMPUR, Oct 18: A Police Constable was arrested after a packet containing heroin was recovered from his car, here today.

The accused was identified as Arjun Sharma, son of Saroj Rajan Sharma, resident of House No 242, Ward No. 17, Omara Morh Udhampur, presently putting up at Jhib, Rehambal, and posted at District Police Lines (DPL) Udhampur.
He was driving a Maruti Car, bearing registration number JK12-5200, which was on way from Katra side towards Tikri when it was stopped during naka checking at Bansmorh by a Police party, led by SHO Rehambal, Parshotam Kumar.
During personal search of the cop, one transparent polypack containing 9.63 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession following which he was taken into custody.
A case FIR number 170/2025, under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is going on.
