JAMMU, Oct 7: Seventy fresh dengue cases were reported across the Jammu division on Monday, taking the total number of infections this year to 1,410.

As many as 379 tests were conducted on October 4. Of the new cases, 41 are males and 29 females, including 15 children and 55 adults. Udhampur district reported highest 27 cases, raising its total to 158. Jammu followed with 20 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 589. Kathua recorded 19 cases taking its total cases to 401. Samba reported 2 new infections while Rajouri and Doda detected one case each.
So far, 16,515 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly higher than 16,157 recorded during the same period in 2024. However, total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 2,335 cases.
Hospital data showed no new admission today while 2 patients were discharged after recovery and six patients are still under treatment.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
