RAJOURI, Aug 8: A Junior Engineer with PDD died in a tragic road accident while his wife and two minor children sustained critical injuries in the mishap.
The deceased has been identified as Tavinder Singh (43), son of Narman Singh of Ward number 7 in Rajouri. He was also president of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, Rajouri.
The accident took place when Wagon-R car of the victim family collided with a Tavera vehicle at Thanda Pani under the jurisdiction of Sunderbani Police Station around 3.30 pm today.
Tavinder Singh reportedly died on the spot while his wife Gurjeet Kour (38), son Anshu Singh (5) and daughter Gursamar Kour (3), sustained critical injuries in the accident. The injured were rushed to local hospital where doctors referred them to GMC Hospital Jammu.
Police has arrested Mohd Bashir, driver of the Tavera vehicle JK05C-4204, which was involved in the accident, informed SHO Sunderbani Naresh Sharma.
