JAMMU, Oct 1: The Harmony Cultural Foundation (HCF) , a platform dedicated to celebrate the art, culture, and heritage of Jammu & Kashmir, today announced the 11th edition of the Harmony India Awards, scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 4 at Abhinav Theatre, here.
This was stated by the representatives of the organisation while talking to reporters here, today. They said over the past decade, the Harmony India Awards have recognized more than a hundred distinguished individuals and groups across music, literature, education, journalism, sports, and social activism. Adding to the grandeur of this year’s celebration, the evening will also mark the launch of Saaz-o-Sukhan-a soulful musical series envisioned to weave together the timeless beauty of poetry (Sukhan) and music (Saaz), creating a global cultural dialogue that showcases the depth and richness of Kashmiri traditions while embracing universal artistic expressions.
They said the 2025 awardees included, Lifetime Achievement Award to Vijay Dhar, Yogini Mata Laleshwari “Lalded” Samman to Prof. Amitabh Mattoo and Pt. Bhajan Sopori, Smriti Samman to Romalo Ram, Women Achievers Award to Dr. Deepali Wattal, Shrestha Samman to Khalid Hussain, Brij Nath Pandit Betab, Ramesh Hangloo, Prof. B. L. Zutshi, Kaka Ji Safaya and Dr. Milan Sharma, Special Award to B. L. Kaul Deep, State Icon Awards to Pradeep Dutta, Ashma Koul and Rakesh Anand ,Community Icon Awards to Dr. Sushil Wattal, Pintoo Ji Pandita and Yuva Puraskar to Anil Koul Chingari.
The awardees have been selected by the Harmony Jury Council, comprising Nirupama Kotru, Prof. Sudhir K. Sopori, Veer Munshi, Krishen Ji Langoo, and Ravinder Kaul.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Founder Saurabh Zadoo said, “The Harmony India Awards have always been about celebrating talent and fostering cultural pride. With the launch of Saaz-o-Sukhan, we are taking a step forward in connecting hearts through music and poetry, creating a platform where tradition meets innovation.” The evening will feature mesmerizing musical performances, poetic recitations, and the felicitation of awardees, making it a landmark occasion for art and culture enthusiasts.
