JAMMU, Sept 30: in order bring some relief for the flood hit villages in Jammu, Impact Guru Foundation (IGF) supported by RJ Foundation, the CSR arm of Varun Beverages Ltd and Voice of Dogras, launched a rapid relief mission that reached over 1,500 families across more than a dozen flood-affected villages.
The team managed to delivered flood relief kits to remote areas stretching from Kathua to Bardhan, including Palth, Mananu, Bilawar, Katal-Batal, Atheiem, Nangal, Deonia, Raitha and Garkhal in Akhnoor.
The relief kits contained staples such as rice, dal, atta, sugar, biscuits and tea, hygiene supplies like soap and antiseptics, candles, women’s dignity kits and nutrition packs for children.
For daily wage earners, elderly residents, persons with disabilities and families who lost everything overnight, these supplies were not just essentials, they were a lifeline.
Speaking on the occasion, Sundeep Talwar, CEO, IGF-India said, “Relief is not just about sending material. It is about reaching every single person with speed, respect and dignity. With the support of RJ Foundation and Varun Beverages Ltd, we turned compassion into action.”
A representative from Varun Beverages Ltd emphasized, “For us, CSR is not just responsibility, it is about standing with people when they need us most. Through RJ Foundation, we were humbled to support the people of Jammu in their toughest hour. Every contribution made a direct difference.”
The ground operation was spearheaded by community leaders and volunteers including Ajay Khajuria, Manish, Feroze, Sumit, Sant Kumar Sharma, Devyani Rana, Manu Khajuria, Dr Parul Jasrotia, Rishi Khajuria, Sahil, Vaibhav Sharma, Nidhi, Rahul Dogra, Dr Vikas Padha, Vikas Dutta, Kunwar Shakti Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Abrol, Anshul, Mohit, Ompal Singh Sambyal, Arvind Khajuria and village sarpanchs.
