Police arrests 2 drug peddlers, seizes 5.77 grams of heroin

SAMBA, Sept 29: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers & peddlers, Samba police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba and recovered 5.77 grams heroin like substance from their possession.
Police said acting on information received through reliable sources, a team of Police Station (PS) Samba, intercepted two persons near Hari Singh Chowk Samba who were moving under suspicious circumstances in a motorcycle bearing Registration Number PB18Z-2811. During frisking, approximately 5.77 grams heroin was recovered from their possession.
The drug peddlers identified as Harpal Singh son of Amarjeet Singh and Dilpreet Singh, son of Satnam Singh both resident of Kotla Bama district Gurdaspur (Punjab) have been arrested and the contraband item has been seized. The motorcycle has also been seized by the police in the instant case, it said.
A case FIR No 245/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
