SOSDEA holds meet, discusses demands

JAMMU, Aug 6: An emergency meeting of the representatives of All J&K Stationery and Office Supplies Department Employees Association (SOSDEA) was held under the leadership of Babu Hussain Malik, president of the association, today.
Malik said that it is unfortunate that the State Government has not implanted the agreement/commitments made with the employees on various occasions and has brazenly trampled the spirit of such agreement twice forcing the State Government and workers to again come on the streets to launch intense agitation.
Hussain has appealed to Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister to consider the burning demands of the employees due to which the working of the department is suffering a lot and the future of the  employees is hanging in dark.
It was unanimously decided to support the Srinagar Chalo on 20-08-2014 on the call given by J&K State Government Employees Joint Action Committee to decide the future course of action.
The demands include opening of stationary depots in the newly created eight district, amendment in draconian SRO-365 which has spoiled the future of the employees of the department, re-organization of the department by combining the seniority of all the employees including Ministerial and executive cadre as per past practice prevailing in the department, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, regularization of adhoc/daily wagers/contractual workers and daily rated workers.
Others present in  the meeting were Seva Ram, Shavinder Kumar, Arvind Kumar, Chandu Lal, Mohd Iqbal, Pavnesh Kumar, Ram Krishan, Moti Ram, Madan Lal, Abdul Qayoom and Pardeep Kumar.
