Ex-Servicemen discuss issues with Dy GOC 10 Div

JAMMU, Sept 26: Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association Akhnoor, in a meeting with Dy GOC 10 Div, discussed various pending issues of the retired defence personnel and also reviewed issues during their own meeting held at Akhnoor.
A meeting in this connection was held under the Chairmanship of a Navy veteran, Lakhbir Singh Sohal. During meeting members projected issues pertaining to their areas. Capt Bharat Bhushan and Shanti Saroop discussed the issue concerning damage caused in their areas with the recent rains and flash floods besides the issues related to ECHS. The issues related to damaged roads and lanes and houses in their respective areas due to rains and floods were also came under discussion.
Singh assured the members that their issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities. He also urged all members to maintain unity and keep contributing to society. “It Is our responsibility to safeguard the interests of ex-servicemen, he added.
Chairman further informed that Ex-servicemen Association, led by him met the Deputy GOC of 10 Inf Div, and discussed several important matters concerning the welfare of Ex-Servicemen. The delegation sought streamlining of ECHS referral procedure, early construction of Sainik Bhawan, admission priority in Army Public Schools and appointment of Specialist Medicos in ECHS. Capt Santosh Kumar (president) also raised several issues during meeting.
Sohal said that Dy GOC gave patient hearing and assured the delegation that their issues will be taken up on priority basis.
