JAMMU, Sept 26: The Post Graduate Department of the University of Jammu emerged champion in both men’s and women’s categories of Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament 2025-26, organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Men’s final was a gripping contest between PG Department JU team and Bhaskar Degree College (BDC) Udhampur. Both sides displayed exceptional energy and determination but the PG Department eventually sealed a 44-41 victory, lifting the championship trophy.
In women’s final, the PG Department team displayed unwavering determination and team spirit. Their coordinated offensive play and tight defensive strategies kept GDC Kathua under constant pressure. Despite spirited resistance from GDC Kathua, the PG Department women’s team maintained their composure and steadily widened the lead in the second half and they ultimately outclassed GDC Kathua by 28-12 points, clinching the championship.
Other prominent faculty members and officials present on the occasion were Dr. Vimal Kishore, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar, Jai Bharat, Shashi Kumar, Dr. Mahak, Harinderpal Singh, Rishiv Sharma, and Richa Mandla, along with officials and participants from affiliated colleges of the University of Jammu. The tournament was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba.
