JAMMU, Sept 24: MLA Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan here, today inagurated five days training programme organised by Sheep Husbandry Department, Kathua under Centrally Sponsored Scheme – ATMA.
Dr. R K Manhas, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Kathua apprised that the training programme was part of the Sewa Parv- 2025 reflecting collective spirit towards cleanliness, digital empowerment and sustainable development.
MLA Kathua, while speaking on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the Department in awaring sheep breeders about latest advancements in sheep rearing. He said that proper awareness and dissemination of Government schemes is imperative to ensure that the benefits of schemes percolate down to the desired population.
He also handed over a cheque of one crore to a beneficiary ( which includes 50 lakhs subsidy) for establishment a improved breed based farm under HADP.
He hoped that the Department will continue to work with even more zeal and enthusiasm for the betterment of our farming community.
The officials of the department and about one hundred breeders attended the programme.
Dr. R.K.Manhas, District Sheep Husbandry Officer gave a detailed presentation on the latest technology of Sheep breeding and rearing.
