DGP inaugurates mega exhibition on ‘New Criminal Laws’

JAMMU, Sept 22: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat today inaugurated a three-day mega exhibition on New Criminal Laws.
The exhibition has been organized by EOW Crime Branch Jammu on the directions of Union MHA.

The DGP was chief guest on the occasion and ADGP Armed J&K, Anand Jain; IGP Jammu zone, Bhim Sen Tuti; IGP Crime J&K, Sujit Kumar Singh; DIG D-K-R Range, Shridar Patil; DIG J-S-K Range, Shiv Kumar; DIG R-P Range, Tejinder Singh; DIG Traffic Jammu, Dr. Haseeb Mughal; DIG Pers J&K, Mubassir Latifi; Sessions Judge (Retd), Subhash Gupta and Director FSL, Gurmukh Singh were special guests of honour.
District SSPs, SDPOs and other officers were also present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, the DGP said that J&K Police has been implementing New Criminal Laws on ground with enthusiasm and conducting investigations in time-bound-manner.
He said that similar exhibitions shall be organised in each district so that people may come to know everything about the New Criminal Laws.
“Objective of organizing a big exhibition of this kind is to create awareness in public,” the DGP maintained.
A large number of people including students and scholars thronged the exhibition on 1st day of the event and were educated about the New Criminal Laws (NCL). An exhibition of this kind is organized first time in Jammu and it will continue till September 24 from 10 am to 5 pm daily.
SSP Benam Tosh, the nodal officer, has invited the people to participate in the exhibition and get valuable knowledge about NCL. Various stalls showcasing the functioning vis-a-vis new criminal laws, i.e. Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, are displayed by District Police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Police Control Room, Women Police Station, Cyber Police Stations, ANTF, CICE, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) etc of Crime Branch Jammu and other units.
