Pulwama observes I’ntl Day of Peace with interfaith harmony

PULWAMA, Sept 22: The National Youth Peace Foundation, in collaboration with the District Administration Pulwama and Pulwama Police, marked the International Day of Peace with a vibrant and meaningful programme dedicated to interfaith dialogue and cultural harmony.
The event began with a two-minute silence to honour the Pahalgam martyrs and victims of natural disasters. It featured interfaith addresses by prominent speakers including MA Ahangar, Mohammad Talat, Ridakshi Ganjoo, Dr. Harbaksh Singh and Simran Kour Raina, who shared powerful messages of peace, unity, and compassion from their respective faiths and traditions.
Chairman of the National Youth Peace Foundation, Bhat Musaddiq Reyaz, emphasized, “From this place, we want to send a strong message of peace, interfaith harmony and unity to every corner of the world. Through dialogue and cultural exchange, we build the true foundation of peace.”
The event included cultural performances that celebrated the rich diversity of traditions and their deep-rooted connection to peaceful coexistence. SSP Pulwama, PD Nitya, addressed the gathering, urging everyone to “shun violence, embrace dialogue and work together for a peaceful and progressive society.”
Traders Federation Pulwama, Bar Association Pulwama (President and General Secretary) and civil society members actively participated, reinforcing the collective call for peace.
