Course on Juvenile Justice begins at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Sept 18: A three-day training course on Juvenile Justice, Child Care and Protection started today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur.
A statement said a total of 24 officers, from the rank of Sub-Inspector to Senior Superintendent of Police, are attending the programme.
The course was inaugurated by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor/ Training), who underlined the need for sensitizing police officers on juvenile issues and child rights, stressing that their approach must be legally sound as well as compassionate.
The training will focus on provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, child welfare, protection mechanisms, and case studies to promote child-friendly policing.
The programme is being coordinated by Inspector Mohammad Ashraf with assistance from HC Atul Singh.
