JAMMU, Sept 15: A thief was arrested and stolen property worth Rs 1.20 lakh was recovered from his possession in Janipur area here today.
A police official said a complaint regarding theft of two cows was received at Janipur Police Station on February 26, 2024.
Accordingly, he said, a case FIR number 30/2024 under the relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
After hectic efforts, the police official said, the accused individual identified as Sadeeq Ahmed of Kalakuppar, Nagrota, was arrested today and the stolen property worth Rs 1, 20, 000 was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
