JAMMU, Sept 6: A high-level seven-member Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) deputed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for assessment of flood-related situation in the Jammu region today visited different parts of Jammu district to assess damage caused by recent floods and heavy rains.

The team visited Garkhal near Pargwal island in Akhnoor area, Mangu Chak near Phallian Mandal, fourth Tawi bridge at Bhagwati Nagar, main Tawi bridge and Gujjar Nagar among other places.
It took on spot assessment of the situation including damages caused by the floods and rains.
The team also interacted with the district administration.
The IMCT which reached here on September 3 is likely to return on September 7 after visiting different parts of the region.
The team is headed by Col KP Singh, Advisor (Operations and Communication), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), MHA.
The team will submit its report to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on its return to New Delhi based on which the Central Government could announce relief and rehabilitation package for civilians hit by the floods and reconstruction of infrastructure damages.
