Jammu, Sept 4: To brief about the importance of the Pitri Paksh (Shraadh Parav)-2025. Pawan Kumar Shastri, President, Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust informed that this year 16 days long Pitri Paksh (Shraadh) 2025 is commencing from (Sunday) the 7th September to 21st September. During Pitri Paksh (Shraadh), the rituals of Tarpan is performed for the departed souls to rest in peace. Shraadh Paksha is one of the most significant time to remember our ancestors and pray for the departed soul to rest in peace. As per Hindu religious books, during the time of Pitri Paksha, if one has to offer prayers and perform certain rituals for their ancestors, he will be blessed by them.
Tarpan during the time of Shraadh is equally necessary in order to get rid of Pitra Dosh (bad effects due to the non-performance of rituals of the departed souls). During these Shraadh days each day is dedicated as Tithi (date) of an ancestor. The Tithi on which the Shraadh takes place is considered to be the date on which the person has passed away. It is pertinent to inform the public in general that those who have forgotten or ignorant about the dates of death of their ancestors, can also perform their Shraadh on the day of Amavasiya that is last Shraadh day and get blessing of their Pitri. Performing of Shraadh of Dada-Dadi, Nana-Nani & Mata-Pita must be done as per Hindu mythology, Shastri said.
He further said that Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust as like in the previous occasions this year also, is making elaborate arrangements for religious discourses and rituals to be reserved at its Haridwar Bhawan by all those who are associated with the Trust and devotees in general.
Members of the Trust in particular and public in general who intend to perform “Pitri Paksh” (Shraadh)-2025 of their late parents, friends, relatives and well wishers at Shree Ganga Ji Ghat Haridwar, may contact the Central Office Mohalla Darugiran, Kanak Mandi, Jammu.
Those desirous to perform Pitri Paksha (Shraadh) of their late nearer and dear, but due to their unavoidable circumstances are unable to attend personally at Haridwar to perform the same, can also contact the Trust
