JAMMU, Aug 27: Police in Jammu’s Bahu Fort area today claimed that they have arrested a thief and recovered stolen bike from his possession.
A police official said on May 22, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Bahu Fort by one Javed Ahmed of Nagrota, who alleged snatching of his motorcycle (JK02CV-5667) near Railway Pulli, Narwal.
Acting on his complaint, he said, police registered a case under the relevant sections of the law and started investigation.
During the course of investigation, the police official further said that a team of Police Station Bahu Fort and Police Post Narwal arrested a suspect, identified as Alex Matoo of Teli Basti, Bari Brahamana.
During sustained questioning, the suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the snatched motorcycle was recovered from his possession, added the police official.
According to him, further investigation into the case is underway.
