KATRA, Aug 16: Police arrested two drug peddlers at Sool and seized 5.53 grams of heroin from possession of the accused, who were on way to Katra.
During routine vehicle checking at Sool Naka, a black colour Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BD-5905, coming from Manthal side towards Katra, was intercepted. On frisking of the motorcycle riders, a transparent polypack containing heroin-like substance and weighing 5.53 grams (including packing material) was recovered from the right front pocket of jeans worn by one Mohd Younas (32), son of Sultan Mohd, resident of Badsoo, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu.
Following this, Mohd Younus along with the pillion rider, identified as Yakeen Ali, son of Sultan Mohd of Badsoo, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu, was taken into custody.
In this regard, a case FIR number 237/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra, and further investigation is underway.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Katra, Khyatimaan Khajuria and supervision of SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
